I’m really enjoying reading the new probing biography about Dietrich Bonhoeffer written by Eric Metaxas, Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy (I recommend it!). Executed in a concentration camp mere weeks before the end of WWII in Europe, Bonhoeffer is widely regarded as one of the most compelling personalities of the twentieth century, and one of the most courageous martyrs in modern times. I will be interviewing Eric in the next few days, and we’ll do a series of posts on the major ideas and ideals coming out of Bonhoeffer’s life. So maybe you want to get a copy and read ahead. Or, if you want, leave me a question to ask Eric as a comment below (do it soon, though; we record on Tuesday).
