Part 3 of an interview with Elmbrook Church’s former Senior Pastor and current Minister-at-Large, Stuart Briscoe, in which he shares thoughts on his memoir, “Flowing Streams.” From his current status and ministry of supporting under-resourced churches and missionaries from around the world, Stuart shares what he’s learned from his journey and his viewpoint on the current state of the global Church.
In this portion of the interview, Stuart Briscoe speaks on his beginnings as a preacher and speaker and how expositional teaching was a novelty at the time. The key to Biblical teaching, he says, is to explain “This is what [the bible] says, this is what it meant, this is how it applies today.”
About Stuart and Jill Briscoe
Stuart and Jill Briscoe began serving as Elmbrook Ministers At Large in 2000, going where they were most needed to support under-resourced churches and missionaries. Today, the Briscoes spend most of their year away from home, bringing encouragement to God’s servants throughout the world.
Stuart has written more than forty books, preached in over 100 countries, and has received honorary doctorates from a number of schools and universities. Stuart and Jill have been asked why they don’t slow down but instead keep going so much and so far. Stuart’s reply? “Because we’re invited.” More on Stuart and Jill and their radio ministry can be found at Telling The Truth.
