Mel,
I could not agree more with Al Mohler and thankful for his detailed answer defining just where Christianity and Mormonism differ theologically such as: “Mormonism starts with an understanding of God that rejects both monotheism and the Christian doctrine of the Trinity.
The Mormon concept of God includes many gods, not one.”
It is scary to me when the President of an Evangelical Seminary, Mouw, in the name of friendship and dialog, cannot give a direct answer as to whether Mormons (based on their theology) are Christians or not , but finds the question complicated. It’s one thing to have good unsaved Mormon friends, who you should have a burden for for God’s one way of salvation, and it’s quite another to be showing their teaching to your students in a Christian Theological Seminary!!!!! Based on their theology, it seems impossible to me that a Mormon Elder present the death of Christ according to God’s Word.
