A Message for the Christmas Season: Guarding Our Hearts and Minds

“Joy to the world, the Lord is come. Let earth receive her King…”

The Christmas season is a time of joy. But, for some, it is also a time of sorrow. In Mel Lawrenz’s message from Philippians 4 we learn about what this means: “rejoice in the Lord always.” We also learn about “the peace of God” which will protect our hearts and minds in the face of all the negative things that are happening today.

Merry Christmas to all of you!

  1. Dr. Lawrenz,

That sermon I heard from you that night I could post upon any internet forum like Face Book or Twitter or even the new comer instagram.
    And I shall…
Where does the internet and real world meet?

    The future of Elmbrook Church….

just an opinion as what would I know…

  2. Thank You, for your wonderful sermon….your voice was joyful to listen to, warming my heart with the truth of our humanity to be joined in love and comfort to one another. I walk daily sharing a smile to hello, and hug to those I know on my journey. Reaction can be delightful, and sometimes funny like “deer in the headlights moment”. Merry Christmas, the Heavenly has blessed you with wonderful heart and beautiful soul.

  3. Thank you so much for this message. It did truly bring me joy to hear it. It is incomprehensible, but at the same time very believable that our loving God would find a way to reconcile us to himself through our Lord Jesus. You spoke the message with such warmth, and I really liked the way you explained what joy and peace really are. We can sometimes take these meanings literally and not get the true meaning of God’s word.
