Have not the British people heard of the word of God as given in the Bible.
Specifically, the Ten Commandments of God conveyed by Moses to the peoples as the fundamental statutes of the Kingdom of God. Haven’t the Britishers read and studied the Bible, chapter 20 of Exodus Book and chapter 5 of Deuteronomy. The statutes of the Kingdom of God clearly forbids stealing, killing, and various combinations thereof (kill to steal)(steal and kill) and associated criminal behavior like coveting other people’s wives & husbands, goods and property, lying to cover up these criminal activities.
It is apparent that Mr. Wilberforce had studied the Bible and decided to take action so that the behavior and action of the British citizens are more in line with the statutes of the Kingdom of God.
I wonder what the Christian preachers, pastors, elders, priests and the associated personnel of the Church were teaching the Britishers before the time of Mr. Wilberforce ?
